About The Show: Encore is a show dedicated to the discovery of music: be it labels, music styles and artists, or a particular year of music. The show is presented in French.
DJ and producer Dr.Vinyl’s aim is to give a taste of every genre of music, without boundaries. There is no particular format to the show which varies every week as much in style as in time period.
The music played covers electronic styles (House, Newbeat , Techno, Electro, from the early 80s though today), Hip-Hop and Soul (Old Skool Hip hop from the 90s), but also Rock, Reggae or Funk. Every now again the show sticks to a theme for the night, be it playing the best selection of labels like Talkin Loud, or Junior Boys Own, playing rare live performances, remixes, or compilations, but also covering the history of specific genres, the likes of Electronic music from the early ages and through the genres (new beat, acid, rave, minimal techno).
Really the show is all about looking at talent, uncovered or main stream.
In this spirit, we wish to dedicate a monthly show entirely to unsigned Artists as we know there is an immense production power here in Ireland that unfortunately doesn’t get enough airplay : Also we want to give the chance to DJs to take on the decks for the night on a monthly or bi-monthly basis.
