Type Of Show:Drama
There’s a thin line between fair and foul it seems, something that we’ll
understand better listening to this drama series which is being repeated on Raidió Na
Life 106.4FM.
This is an unusual, supernatural drama, situated in the court of
Anubis at the Gates of Eternity, where the Great Dog-Headed
Egyptian God, sits guard.
A woman named Deirdre Nye has been murdered. The series is based
around this murder and the different versions that the various
characters have of the events surrounding it.
There are four episodes in the series. Four long monologues from four
heavily involved characters.
A point of reference is the style that is found in the ‘Vagina
Monologues’ series, a series of radio programmes in which personality
is bestowed on the women’s bodies that they might speak of their
versions of their truths. Another example is 'Cré ná Cile' where the characters
speak from grave.
In the first show then we’ll hear Deirdre’s story – though she is dead.
Programme 2: We get the investigating Garda’s account.
Programme 3: We'll hear from the one known as "the weepy one" - a witness who saw the crime.
Programme 4: We get a version of events from Deirdre’s husband
– the murderer – though he believes that he will escape.
We have no way of knowing the outcome.
