Clár na Rudaí Beaga first aired back in 1994, during Raidió na Life’s first year on air! A group of friends who came together every Saturday evening to discuss everything from music to politics, the show is now presented by Ian Creamer and while the politics have gone, the music is the main aspect of the show.

All types of music genres are played from Alt-Indie to electronica, rock to Americana, dance to pop and so on. Ian plays the best new music and according to Ian “probably because all the new bands are trying to sound like they belong to the 1980s we pick some of that decade’s more interesting tracks”. The music played on the show is heavily influenced by magazines like Q, Uncut, Mojo, NME and sites like Pitchfork music. We also like to play as much new music from Irish acts as possible. As well as music, movies, TV, gigs and previews of the weekend’s sport are all discussed for 60 minutes every Thursday evening between 6 and 7pm!
